Associate Patient Care Executive Named at Adventist Health Howard Memorial

January 6, 2023 (Willits, CA) — Adventist Health Howard Memorial is pleased to announce Amy Buckingham as Associate Patient Care Executive. Buckingham brings more than 15 years of experience to this role in which she will oversee nursing practices, quality, safety and infection prevention initiatives.

“We are very excited to welcome Amy into this role,” says Linda Givens, Administrator of Adventist Health Howard Memorial. “Her profound clinical experience paired with her passion for our Planetree efforts of patient-centered care will help us build on our strengths and continue to improve the quality of care we provide to our community.”

Buckingham has served with Adventist Health Howard Memorial for many years, most recently as Emergency Services Directory overseeing the Emergency Department and Respiratory Therapy at the hospital. Her extensive experience in patient care pairs well with the relationships she’s established within the community and our team that she has supported.

“I’m excited for the opportunity to continue to support our team and the amazing work they do caring for our community,” says Buckingham. “I’m incredibly proud of the excellent care we deliver in our facility and I’m looking forward to working with each of our departments, providing compassionate care that focuses on the continuous improvements of our patient’s experience.”

Buckingham graduated from Western Governors University with a master’s degree in nursing leadership and management and was a part of the first graduating class from the Mendocino College nursing program in 2007. She holds such professional certifications as a nationally certified emergency nurse, trauma care, emergency nurse in pediatrics, neonatal resuscitation, is certified in clinical incident stress debrief management, sexual assault forensic nursing both for adults and pediatrics and is BLS/ACL/PALS certified.

Born and raised in Covelo and a mother of two, Amy currently resides in Willits with her family.
