Edwin Hojilla, MD, Joins Adventist Health Medical Office Hanford

August 19, 2022 (Hanford, Calif.) – Adventist Health Medical Office in Hanford is pleased to welcome Edwin Hojilla, MD, who joins our team in August as the Medical Director of the Hanford Primary Clinic, Hanford Same Day Clinic, and the Sports Medicine Program.

Board certified in Family Medicine and specializing Sports Medicine, Dr. Hojilla treats a full spectrum of illnesses and conditions for patients of all ages, including infants, adolescents, adults and seniors. He most commonly treats hypertension, diabetes, arthritis, joint pain, and non-operative orthopedic injuries, with an emphasis on sports medicine procedures, such as joint injections.

Dr. Hojilla received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where he graduated Cum Laude. He then completed his Doctor of Medicine degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine in Cupecoy, St. Maarten where he made the Dean’s List and was an Alpha Omega Phi Honor & Service Society Inductee.

He most recently completed his Primary Care Sports Medicine Fellowship at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie, Pennsylvania after finishing his Family Medicine Residency at St. Mary Mercy Hospital in Livonia, Michigan, and is an active member of several reputable organizations, including the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine, the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Family Physicians, and the American Medical Association.

As a current captain in the U.S. Army Reserve, Dr. Hojilla leads an active lifestyle. He earned his blue belt and taught Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and has won several national wrestling awards and accolades, including being a NCAA Division I National Qualifier.

“I chose a career in Family Medicine and Sports Medicine because I enjoy meeting new people and helping them,” he says. “I love being able to help people improve their health, ease their discomfort and stay active.”

In his spare time, Dr. Hojilla enjoys working out, trying unique cuisines and relaxing with his wife and four children.
