Ukiah Hero: OB Team

News, Spirit

This month we’re overjoyed to recognize a new Ukiah Hero who goes above and beyond in their work, but this time it’s not just one person, but a group of five! Some of our OB team members consisting of Teresa Keffeler, Sara Davis, Jacqueline Graumann, Paulette Shark and Marisela Mendoza were nominated for their kind hearts, incredible work and special gifts they lend to bringing new life into this world.

These five associates were nominated for our value of “Be a Mission Owner.” This means we own our role, finding our talent and knowing our contributions are mission critical. We ask ourselves, “How do we inspire health, wholeness and hope?”

The nomination that came through for this great team read, “The labor and delivery department have the distinct privilege of welcoming new life into our community. The New Year’s baby is an event we prepare for months before by making handmade knitted hats and blankets. Our charge nurse Teresa Keffeler, nurses Marisela Mendoza, Jacqueline Graumann and Paulette Shark and Certified OB Technician Sarah Davis as well as others volunteer their time, making these special gifts for the newest member of 2022. This team does it from the heart and I love that about them. It brings us joy to see our first baby of each year wrapped in warmth and love in their parent’s arms.”

We are so grateful for this team's work every year to ensure that new bundles of joy and their parents are comfortable, safe, and cared for as our team showers them with the love they truly deserve.

Thank you to our amazing five, Teresa, Sara, Jacqueline, Paulette and Marisela in our OB for all your hard work, and dedication to every patient and family that comes to deliver at our hospital. You all are our heroes and we could not be more proud to have you on our team.
