Gastroenterologist joins Adventist Health Medical Office - Fowler

News

FOWLER – Adventist Health Medical Office - Fowler is pleased to announce the addition of board-certified gastroenterologist Christopher Orpiano, DO. He specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with diseases and conditions affecting the liver, stomach, intestines and other digestive organs.

Inspired by the physicians who treated his father’s chronic medical conditions, Orpiano decided to pursue medicine as a career. He says the care his father received for coronary artery disease and a stroke that left him disabled, allowed him to spend a number of years with his father.

After earning a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences at the University of California, Irvine and time spent as a medical research assistant at one of San Francisco’s notable biotechnology companies, Orpiano moved to Florida for medical school and postdoctoral training. There, he earned his doctor of osteopathy at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, followed by a residency in internal medicine at Largo Medical Center and fellowship in gastroenterology at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point in Hudson.

In addition to certification by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine, Orpiano is a member of several professional organizations, which include the American Gastroenterological Association, American College of Gastroenterology, American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases and American Osteopathic Association.

Originally from the San Francisco area, Orpiano describes himself as a “die hard” Giants, Niners and Warriors fan. Other interests include staying active through CrossFit and boxing and exploring California’s many food offerings and activities.

Orpiano is accepting new patients at Adventist Health Medical Office – Fowler, with a phone number of 559-834-1614.
