Chiropractor joins Adventist Health Medical Office - Tulare

News

TULARE – Adventist Health Medical Office – Tulare is pleased to welcome board-certified chiropractor Steven D. Mitchell, DC, to its staff. Mitchell has been in practice since 1992 and has served the Tulare community for nearly 30 years. He specializes in chiropractic adjustments, including diversified, activator and myofascial release (MFR). He treats patients with pain of the neck, upper back or lower back and also those suffering from whiplash as a result of car accidents and others with myofascial pain.

“I look at the patient as a person, not a condition,” he says. “I strive to know them as a whole person, so I can provide the most thorough care possible.”

After earning a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology at the University of California, Davis, Mitchell earned his doctor of chiropractic degree from the Los Angeles College of Chiropractic, graduating cum laude. While there, he completed an internship. He then met national and state board requirements for licensing and certification and worked as an associate doctor for two years. Since that time, he has dedicated extensive time toward post-graduate training.

“It’s important to me to provide the highest level of care to every patient,” he says. “From X-ray diagnostics and nutrition to spinal biomechanics and muscular dysfunction, each area of training is valuable for diagnosis and effective treatment.”

Mitchell also has studied the effects of low speed and high force injuries to the spine such as those often associated with car accidents and other incidents.

He’s certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners and a member of the California Chiropractic Association, Central Valley Chiropractic Association, and Tulare and Kings County Chiropractic Society. Additionally, he is actively involved in his church as a musician.

When not caring for patients, Mitchell enjoys spending time with his wife, playing guitar, hiking and gardening.

He’s accepting new patients and may be reached at Adventist Health Medical Office – Tulare, 2059 N. Hillman St., with a phone number of 559-605-0090.
