Adventist Health St. Helena is Open, Ready to Care for You and Your Family

News

I’m thrilled to share with you that Adventist Health St. Helena is open, ready to care for you and your family.

For the past few months, our team has been preparing for the worst. And with your support, we’re now ready for the best: welcoming you back for whatever care you may need, including elective procedures.

You can be confident in our commitment to excellence—Healthgrades®, a company that provides objective, comprehensive information on healthcare quality, just recognized Adventist Health St. Helena for several achievements, including one of America’s Best Hospitals for Joint Replacement™ for 6 Years in a Row (2014-2019). Please read more about our other Healthgrades® achievements in cardiac, orthopedic and gastrointestinal care on our website.

And you can be assured that Adventist Health St. Helena (AHSH) is prepared to safely care for you. Our patient outcomes reflect that commitment: Spring 2020 Leapfrog safety grades show that AHSH is the safest hospital in Napa County.

To ensure your safety during the pandemic, we’ve also implemented additional precautions:

  • Telehealth technology so you have access to medical visits from your own home.
  • Visitor limitations: Until further notice, for the protection of our patients and staff, we no longer allow visitors in our clinics or at the hospital. Exceptions may be made on a case-base-case basis and for patients in palliative care.
  • Daily screenings of every person who enters an AHSH facility: Every person has their temperature taken with an external infrared thermometer and is also screened for all major and minor COVID-19 symptoms outlined by the CDC.
  • Necessary PPE, ventilators and other essential resources: Thanks to our health system’s effective preparation as well as generous support from our community, we have sufficient personal protective equipment (PPE) and ventilators, expanded ICU and isolation room capacity, and all other essentials necessary to serve the needs of our patients, including those who may test positive for COVID-19.
  • Mandatory mask use: All caregivers are required to wear masks in patient care areas, and all people in the facility must wear masks according to public health guidelines.

And, thanks to supporters like you—who provided more than $430,000 for our COVID-19 preparation and response efforts—we’re now the first hospital in the Bay Area to utilize the Synexis sanitizing system.

Synexis patented technology produces and distributes Dry Hydrogen Peroxide (DHP) that kills viruses, bacteria and mold in enclosed spaces. Unlike ultraviolet light techniques, Synexis technology poses no risk to humans and can be safely delivered in occupied spaces.

This cutting-edge technology is one more way we’re keeping you safe. We are here for you, ready to care for you.

And it’s all thanks to you! Your donations of PPE and meals for healthcare workers, your gifts toward our COVID-19 response… your support is keeping local healthcare strong.

But we’re not done! We’re still working on other innovative ways to keep you healthy and safe. So please be on the lookout for more updates.

Thank you for standing with us. And please stay well.

In good health and with gratitude,

Herb Sig
