News, Awards & Recognition

We've done it again! Patient safety organization, The Leapfrog Group, published its Fall 2019 scorecard and Adventist Health Glendale received its 10th consecutive 'A' grade - the only hospital in the Glendale/Burbank area, to receive 10 straight A's in a row.

Of the roughly 2,600 hospitals nationally that are graded twice annually, only 92 hospitals nationwide, and 11 in California, have received straight A's since Spring 2015.

This outstanding achievement puts us among the top 3.5% of hospitals graded nationwide and makes it clear to consumers who seek out this information that this is a hospital with consistently high standards of patient safety. This is made possible by you - our amazing team of physicians, clinical staff and associates who have worked so hard to keep patient care, safety and outcomes as the focus of our success.

Leapfrog's Hospital Safety Score is calculated by top patient safety experts who recognize hospitals for their strong commitment to patient safety. Developed under the guidance of an expert panel, the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade uses 30 measures of publicly available hospital safety data to assign letter grades to approximately 2,619 U.S. hospitals twice a year, helping consumers protect themselves and their families from errors, injuries, accidents and infections. The report is peer reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public.

Our goal is to deliver top-decile clinical results and patient experience. This demonstrates our progress. Moreover, we've placed added focus on the voice of our patients to understand our performance first hand. It is immensely gratifying that what we're hearing from our patients is independently verified in this way.

Any A grade is hard-earned and well deserved; to do it 10 times over is remarkable! Congratulations to all of you on this achievement. Our associates continued attention to our patients' health, safety and satisfaction will continue to drive our growth and success.
