Adventist Health Castle announces two new Wellness Center programs for 2019

Healthy Weight and Your Child

In this new program, offered in partnership with Hawaii Pacific Health and YMCA of Honolulu, families attend a 4-month, 25-session program to learn about healthy eating, physical activity, portion control, eating “triggers”, food label reading, goal-setting and rewards.

To qualify, participating child must be 7-13 years old, carry excess weight (BMI of 95th percentile or higher), and attend with a parent/guardian.

Cost: $80 per family, with financial assistance available for qualifying families

Attend a free informational session on January 29 or 31, 5:15-7:30pm, Adventist Health Castle Auditorium. The 25 sessions take place at Adventist Health Castle Auditorium every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:15-7:30 p.m. starting February 12, 2019.

Diabetes Management

This accredited program by the American Association of Diabetes Educators is led by certified diabetes educators for people who want to manage their Type 2 diabetes and prevent complications. Participants learn how to eat healthy, be active, monitor blood sugar levels, reduce risk of other health conditions, and other skills to cope with the disease. Cost of most diabetes services are covered by HMSA, Medicare and other insurance plans. For information or to register call 808-263-5051.
