News

April 10, 2019 (Sonora, CA) – Adventist Health Sonora is hosting Heart of Hospice, a fun-filled, western-themed event to benefit Hospice. Last year, the event raised more than $17,000 for the Hospice Patient Support Fund, which directly supports local hospice patients and their families with items that are not typically covered by insurance – transportation, in-home care, medications, utilities, and more.

Heart of Hospice will be held Saturday, May 4, 2019, at 5 p.m., at Indigeny Reserve in Sonora. The evening includes a down-home BBQ dinner with mac & cheese bar prepared by local caterers Sierra Smoke BBQ, live country music by Fiddles, Etc..., live auction and Boots of Hospice game with a $500 Rawhide Meats gift card and many other locally-sourced prizes up for grabs. The Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Posse will also present local wine and beer as well as Indigeny ciders. Western attire is highly encouraged. Heart of Hospice will be emceed by Dr. Ed Clinite and one of the highlights will be the presentation of the annual Big Heart Award, this year honoring Sandy Miller and the Annual Bridge Tournament group, which, in 34 years, has raised more than $97,000 for hospice patients.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Adventist Health Sonora Hospice. More information about the event may be obtained by calling (209) 536-5022. Tickets are available by visiting www.AdventistHealthSonora.org/heartofhospice.
